Transcript Policy

• Fill out the transcript release form (attached) and return to the guidance office, completed and signed.
• Fill out the appropriate school release form for transcripts (can be found on their websites) and return to guidance, completed and signed.
• All releases must be received in the guidance office at least TWO WEEKS before the application deadline, in order for copying, processing and mailing. No exceptions can be made.

Letter of Recommendation Policy

• Choosing teachers to write your letters:  Choose teachers who know you and with whom you have developed a positive academic relationship with. If a school requires a certain subject matter teacher to write a letter of recommendation, but that teacher doesn’t know you then consider your teachers from previous years.
• Approaching your chosen teacher about recommendation letters: 
  • Tell them where you are hoping to attend school. 
  • Tell them that you have enjoyed their class and would like them to recommend you for your school of choice by writing a letter and/or filling out a form.
• What to give your teachers: each teacher who agrees to write you a letter of recommendation willneed the following:
  • The completed student input sheet (see attached)
  • Any required forms for your school of choice. (Often schools have their own approved recommendation forms they need to be filled out. They can be found on their webiste.)
• A stamped AND addressed envelope
• How much time you need: All forms must be given to your teachers of choice at least TWO WEEKS before applications are due. There must be enough time to ensure that each teacher can write an honest and meaningful recommendation. It is also important there is enough time for teachers to copy and mail the recommendation letter! No exceptions can be made!
