Northley Students Kick Off Advisory with Leadership Portfolios

Northley Middle School students kicked off their first Advisory of the school year by setting up their Leader in Me Leadership Portfolios.

Throughout the year, students will use their portfolios to document their goals, reflect on their growth, and celebrate their accomplishments as they develop their leadership skills.

Northley’s Advisory Schedule provides students with dedicated time beyond regular classroom instruction to connect with their advisory teacher, build relationships, and participate in activities that strengthen the school community. Advisory activities throughout the year may include Leader in Me lessons, academic planning, character education, team-building, study skills, and other schoolwide initiatives that support students’ academic, social, and personal growth.

The portfolio activity gave students a chance to get started on a tool they will continue to build and use throughout the school year.
