Students Learn the Power of Community Through Stone Soup
Students in Mrs. Roche and Mrs. Kikut’s middle school classes recently turned a storybook lesson into a hands-on experience! After reading Stone Soup by Jon J. Muth, the classes discussed the book’s theme of cooperation and generosity.
In the story, townspeople each contribute one ingredient to create a soup for everyone to enjoy. Inspired by that idea, students and families donated ingredients to make their own class “Stone Soup.” Together, they prepared and will share the finished soup, a reminder that great things can happen when everyone works together.
