7th-Graders Explore Cells Under the Microscope

Seventh grade students in Ms. Sundquist’s classes explored the microscopic world as part of their unit From Cells to Organisms. In the lab, Observing Cells Under the Microscope, students created wet mounts of various specimens, carefully focused their microscopes, and drew detailed observations of what they saw.

They then compared and contrasted the characteristics of specimens including elodea, spinach, celery, and pond water, strengthening their understanding of cell structure and function through hands-on learning.
